Foamed (elastic) polyurethane, better known as foam rubber, is widely used in various fields. Lightweight, resilient, with good shock-absorbing properties, it is used as a filler for sports equipment and shells, soft toys, and is especially in demand in furniture production. Foam rubber is a hypoallergenic material resistant to mold. The owners of old wooden windows are familiar with the foam rubber tapes used to warm windows for the winter, sponges are made from foam rubber – bath accessories and household supplies, sometimes foam rubber serves as packaging material.
